Pokarekare Ana!

Today New Zealand's government did something wonderful.  They legalised same sex marriage and in doing so became the 13th country in the world, and the 1st in Asia Pacific .

I have never been able to get my head around any of the so called reasons against same sex marriage so for me this is an example of common sense and decency finally triumphing.

The depth of love and joy pouring out of this clip from the Third Reading of Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Bill is truly moving.

I wish I knew the words to the song they break into (Pokarekare Ana) but it is apparently a New Zealand love song.

I welled up.  Then I wailed.
