I've also heard that in China where they are from they are never eaten whole and dried as they are vile but instead are re-hydrated to make a sort of tea. While I don't disagree with you they seem to be in every other mixed dried fruit selection at the moment. Therefore, we have learned to get along in the company of other dehydrated fruity treats but, when alone, do the food based equivalent of trying not to make eye contact as we pass one another in the supermarket aisle!
